my lungs if I felt it would
make any difference,
but knowing that it
absolutely would not
I sit quietly and
keep my mouth shut,
knowing that if I were
to speak my mind--
never would truer
words be spoken
or uttered more ardently,
from the passion
that lays dormant
within.
Where I am
and where I'm
headed
are no longer
your concern
and that high
horse you
sit upon--
that pedestal
you've forged
that gives you
this false sense
of moral high ground
is bound to fall
eventually.
