_{The light glistening
from vermilion locks

gives me the chills,

and I try to remember
never fall for a red.

But I'm a sucker for scarlet
tendrils and rosy cheeks
with brown freckles lining
fragile jawbones,

call me a fool but
I never listen to
red flags.

And although lessons
are learned they
are often ignored
and disregarded
whenever a new one
appears.

     Well I shifted my thoughts
     hoping to evade

     only to see
     it all crumble

     again

     Well the blame is
     my own

     no way to point the
     finger

     when the whole world
     tells me to turn
     back

     and I continue on

     It's hard to ignore such
     a voracious appetite

     especially when the
     ache of trying to
     pass up opportunity

     drives me insane

I try to be careful
and tread softly

but it never works out
and I fall back in love

with those green eyes
and red bangs
that cascade down
and leave me stranded

Lost on seas of
aquamarine
like my birth stone
amongst fiery filaments

it's hard to keep
my grounding

and common sense

when the physical allure
alone
is enough to
scrape my knees

falling in love

or begging.}
